In September 2019, 25 tech journalists made their way to Ibiza to learn about and report on the all-new Technics MK7 SL 1210 turntable.

It was important to Technics that the turntable be tested and demonstrated by a person who knows it well. Thus, the choice quickly fell to DJ Sven Väth – one of the largest techno pioneers in the world. Sven has been playing vinyl exclusively for over 40 years, and since the Technics turntable hit the market in 1978, they’ve been an inseparable team.

So we invited the best Brand Ambassador for this brand in one of the best hotels in Ibiza (OD Talamanca) where the media event took place. The day kicked off for the journalists with a shared, relaxed lunch and after Frank Balzuweit, the Business Development Manager at Technics Consumer Electronics, announced the technical news, the reporters eagerly received the techno DJ. The superstar´s open, honest and natural personality motivated journalists to ask all their questions they had to the DJ regarding his thoughts on the new product.

The event was rounded off, in which the guests were allowed to spend the rest of the evening with the DJ legend and experienced the turntable live during one of his performances. For dinner, everyone went to CIPRIANI Downtown Ibiza in the five-star Ibiza Gran Hotel, where Sven Väth usually meets friends and colleagues before heading to his gig at Amnesia Ibiza.

To guarantee a perfect view of the DJ and the turntables in action, we had reserved a VIP table at Amnesia – the oldest and most famous club in Ibiza and where Sven Väth celebrated the 20th anniversary of his event series „Cocoon“ this year.

In order for the reporters to enjoy their evening to the fullest, we had also organized a photographer and videographer, a waiter who met their every wish and a

stand-by shuttle, which brought people back to the hotel whenever they liked.

After a delicious breakfast, this shuttle was ready to take guests to the airport at their respective time. Conclusion of the event were great media articles about the new turntable and the resulting satisfaction of our customer Technics by Panasonic about our services.
